The animal is not the usual cat or dog and probably the officer is out of his depth but he could google the facts that Alpacas need to be shorn at least every two years and that is for health reasons as well as the distress of an over long coat in hot weather The Alpaca in question is covered with scabs under the coat and needs treatment Visiting inspector(s) have brought about no changes and I am unable to offer help in terms of Alpaca experts and society that would be wiling to support Smooth talking uncaring owners with silver tongued excuses ma have diverted from the facts but that is not good enough A dismal situation which needs rectifying immediately Get some facts and knowledge inspectors Not hard with the internet Wise up!!! You can insist animals are treated appropriately and their welfare is addressed or removed Joe Public cannot DO YOUR JOB
