My house and contents insurance are due to renew on 11/2/21-ok I will let it renew.
However the car insurance renewal is also due on the same day, so last week I renewed online as you do with an upgrade at an extra £40+.
I printed off the documents including the certificate of insurance for 11/2/21 - 11/2/2022.
So far so good!
However, on 1/2/21 I received an email asking me to renew my car insurance.
What now I thought, there always seems to be a bloody problem of some sort.
So I rang one 0800 free number at Saga and after having to listen to awful pop music and a recorded message from the head honcho about a survey at the end (not likely unless they pay me, as I always demand £100 cash or cheque for doing that), and funnily enought in all the years I have been asking for this sum, no company has taken up the offer!
Anyway the lady operative (is that the correct term?) after her spiel, left me on hold and I GAVE UP AFTER AROUND 10 MINUTES.
After a little while I rang another of their 0800 numbers and got another female operative and had to repeat the datail, asking why if my insurance had been renewed I had received a demand to renew.
To cut a long story short she assured me that all was in order and that a note would be placed on file that I had rung to query what was going on.
It was difficult to get any real explanation as to why an existing customer (who has been with them on and off for a number of yeras) and having just renewed, should be harassed in this way.
I could go on, but I was given some story by one of them that there had been a systems problem when I renewed and issued with a different account/policy number.
It doesn't leave me with much confidence in their systems, so I won't be booking any holiday with SAGA anytime soon!
