MY DAY’S SHOP.
You asked me how my visit went ,
just as I left your store.
A message on my mobile screen,
appeared just like before.
So as the glass doors slid apart,
a warmth embraced by face.
I wheeled my empty trolley cart,
sedate and slow my pace.
First off some crimson raspberries,
did catch my roaming eyes.
So plump they were, so tempting,
so I took a box to try.
Next onward through fruit aisle,
trawling almost at a traipse,
I spied the finest of their ilk,
sweet Thompson seedless grapes.
Then further still an Autumn crop,
that’s truly Heaven sent.
The apples that pack such a punch,
Cox Pippins grown in Kent.
Yet further still my eyes were drawn,
soon by the cheese I stood.
And the Vintage Applewood I chose,
as nothing tastes so good.
I then set off to the checkouts,
past the fresh milk and cooked hams.
I just could not fight temptation,
when I spied some sweet plum jam.
And some fruity loaf to spread it on,
my day’s shop was complete..
I payed and left the warmth behind,
as I set foot on the street.
