I recently purchased a phone from Samsung via the trade-in program. I traded in my old Galaxy Note 9 and paid the difference for a S21. Flash forward a couple days after I sent the trade in, Samsung emailed me saying the trade in was rejected for various reasons including:
Failure to power on, and does not start up to Home Screen and function normally (yet sent an accompanying image of the phone powered on) and that I didn’t Factory Reset the phone (which I did). In the case of “functioning properly”, some Samsung phones suffer from a SOFTWARE issue (from a recent update) where the phone occasionally gets a yellow-green tint with horizontal lines and that seems to be their issue as to why the phone was rejected... but that’s because of THEIR software issue. Nonetheless they rejected my trade-in. This is extremely disappointing as it’s their own problem and they refuse to accept a device that’s been affected by their poor updates.
Furthermore Samsung makes it very difficult for you to get in contact with customer service if you’ve travelled outside the US and for some reason doesn’t have live chat. I found a Facebook tech support chat but they don’t deal with these issues apparently. Therefore I can’t get in contact with anyone to discuss my trade-in. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
I was pro-Samsung rooting for them in every aspect until recently. Bad service, don’t care about customers and don’t want to accept liability for their own errors.
