Please do not take dread disease cover at Sanlam. Apparently being diagnosed with breast cancer that is so aggressive that a mastectomy had to be done asap, are not considered to be a qualifying event for them. The fact that you will be on cancer treatment for months after the surgery also is not considered to be a qualifying event. They just simply decline your claim stating that you do not meet the criteria. So please do not fall for the "we will take care of you during difficult times" stories. Save some money anywhere els for a rainy day instead of paying them a monthly contribution.
