Theft & Misleading Customer coupled with Bad Customer Service from Screwfix Unit 1 Edmonton Trade Park.
I purchased a bath panel with a 5 year warranty two weeks ago. Within two weeks of purchase a crack appeared on the center of the panel, I took it back immediately to the store it was purchased from with receipt for a refund & I was given 5 excuses to not accept the return. When I challenged the excused not appropriate for the situation the managers decision was very vague with his response & came to final excuse that because I made minor alterations (cut a tiny peice at the end of the panel to allow space for my wash hand basin waste pipe that is connected to the bath waste pipe) so the panel fit perfectly with my bath they won't accept the return although the crack damage area was in the middle, center surface of the panel which was not caused by the alteration I made at the end of the panel made two weeks prior the damage occurred.
Contacted customer service who then called the same store it was purchased from and spoke to the same manager who refused to then later also refused to accept the return over the phone.
To me this is theft from Screwfix for misleading customers about their item comes with 5 year warranty, when you approach them directly with a fault with their product to then refuse to give a refund for their cheap faulty item after two weeks of purchase. As the panel would have been disposed off if no alterations was made why then refuse with alterations. Head office Management needs to review their warranty policy or remove it completely so you know you have no cover when you purchase any of their items.
