My husband retired and so we decided to renovate some of our home. We spent over £8000 in SCS - carpets, sofas and we also treated our oldest son to a sofa.
After waiting 4 months for out carpet it was fitted last Wednesday 17th March. The carpet fitter hadn’t picked up a joining strip to go between our carpet and the kitchen flooring . The fitter promised to return on Monday 22nd March 2021 to complete the work- we paid him £120 in good faith as we believed with a large firm such as SCS their fitters would be trustworthy and honest. The fitter asked me to text him on Monday to remind him which I did- no reply. By 5pm on Monday 22nd I tried to ring the fitter - straight to voicemail. I rang SCS who said they would email him. Tuesday 23rd still no fitter so I rang SCS again to be told they would remain the fitter and the Operational Manager & the firm said someone would return my call either that day or Wednesday ( 24th) .Today ( Thursday 25th) still no fitter and no contact from SCS - I have had to ring a 3rd time. I have said I do not want this fitter back in my home to be told another customer service representative feels I should give the fitter another try. I can’t speak to a manager as no SCS managers are ‘patient facing’ I’ve said I would like this strip fitted by another fitter to be told I can’t have an outcome for 14 days. Absolutely appalling service - I have worked the whole pandemic and really enjoyed spending my time off doing up our home, we have worked really hard for our money and feel completely let down by SCS. I gave spent all week worrying about this and the after sales care is so poor I’m considering asking SCS to just come and take the carpet up abs refund my money we’ll go elsewhere.
Please go elsewhere DO NOT USE SCS - poor after sales care & zero customer support all over a 7ft joining strip.
