I just want to tell literally everybody about what happened with SCS, it’s clear now why they have removed all methods to be able to right a review! I’m actually tramatised from it all to be honest.
1. We were sold sofas which were too big for our room, the salesmen seen our ‘blue prints’ and measured up totally wrong.
2. Due to the previous point, this caused our sofa order to be completely changed and delayed getting our sofa by over 12 weeks.
3. They tried to charge us extra for our carpets, and even rang me months after we ordered it to ask what colour we ordered as they had ‘no record’ we ordered our carpet (despite putting a deposit down)
4. The carpet was delayed 5 weeks, I’m in a new build house with absolutely no flooring.
5. On the day the carpets were due to be fitted we were told the fitters are to be paid £196 for fitting costs. we were told when we purchased the carpet fitting was included and it was NOT made clear that we would have more to pay on the fitting day.
6. Finally felt as I was getting somewhere with a fitting appointment booked, I left work early to let the fitters in, to get a message saying they were running an hour late. Not the end of the world I suppose, however as time went on they just didn’t show up at all. I messaged, rang, nothing. Didn’t hear a single thing until 4pm where they rang back and said that they we at another house longer than planned as well as using traffic as an excuse all day and they weren’t going to make it, they told me this 2 hours after they were due to show up.
7. Due to the fitters not showing up, we had nowhere to sleep, all our beds/furniture/clothing was piled up in rooms/areas which weren’t getting carpeted. We couldn’t even use our kitchen or bathroom because they was full of furniture from around the house that was to be carpeted.
8. Now our sofas were due to arrive the day after our fitting, but because our fitting didn’t go ahead we had NO ROOM to put the new sofas getting delivered.
9. The temporary sofa SCS provided us due to ours being so delayed, I was told will be taken away when our sofa is delivered. However when they came to drop off our sofa they advised they had ‘no record’ of us ever getting the temporary sofa and nearly refused to take it away.
10. They left the house without putting the doors back on, my friend is a joiner and came to put the door on and the door is now extremely stiff and not closing easily which will result in the hinge or the door frame getting damaged it is that tight. Plus it is not my job to have to put these doors back on when we were not the ones to take them off!
11. They owed us change, said they were going to the van to get it and just drive off!
12. Now I cannot get in touch with anybody at SCS about my complaint and my emails are getting ignored.
I cannot believe a company as big as SCS has treat us this way and made so many mistakes, to drive me to tears the day the fitters didn’t arrive. I lost time at work that day fitters were meant to arrive as well as had nowhere to sleep in my own home.
