The worst store I have ever bought something from. If I could I would rate it 0. So let me start this long story.
I bought the Salvatore Ferragamo shoes in this store and here where the story begins. As the shoes were flats with leather sole it is very basic situation that the sole will start wearing off fairly quickly. As being responsible shoe wearer and knowing that they have to get serviced to assure longevity I first started looking into options where to get them serviced because sometimes designer shoes need some more advanced care. First I tried to call Selfridges and couldn't get through to obtain the information if they do repairs. Then went to look on the website to find out if there are any type of repair service they are offering and couldn't find nothing about such a thing. So I took it to one well known designer shoe repair shop and got the soles done.
After half a year side of one of the shoe started ripping off so I took them back to selfridges. And the only answer I got is that they won't do anything about the shoes because they believe rubber sole is not suitable for these shoes and also they haven't been repaired by Selfridges. Whaaaaat??? I didn't have that type of information at first place. Moreover if the shoes are faulty it makes no difference who did the servicing. And the shoes were owned for 8 months only plus hasn't been worn much. So by the end of conversation with two managers I was simply pushed out of the shop with faulty pair of shoes with no exchange.
So I complained to customers service after, which appearently was a waste of time. Didn't help me at all just repeated what manager said.
Finally I went to boutique of Salvatore Ferragamo and surprise surprise they have no problem with rubber sole and they would have change them to the new pair because they are more likely faulty then anything. Out of goodwill they took the shoes for a free repair and adviced not to shop in the selfridges and come to the actual boutique next time.
Save your time and money don't shop in the place which takes no responsibility for anything they selling and as good only as long as things are going well. Once you have purchased any faulty goods they will look for 1000 reasons not to do anything about it.
