Avoid at all costs. Seriously. I’m sure there are occasions where people’s orders are satisfied without issue (hence the good reviews) however it’s not when things are going right that you need a company to be competent, accessible and reasonable, but when they’ve gone wrong. I ordered flowers to be delivered to my sister’s work for her birthday. I was told after ordering (with no ability to choose a time slot) that they would be delivered between 8am and 8pm. Potential problem given her workplace closes at 7pm. Tried to find a way to contact the company only to find that they have no phone number, no email address, only one of those daft online contact forms. Opting for blind optimism that the delivery should be made before 7pm (given I was advised they had been dispatched at noon), I spent the whole day checking in on the tracker. At 5.09pm (approximately 20 miles from the delivery address), I was told that the delivery had failed. What, you say! This must be some mistake. Either your delivery guy has outrageously long arms or the courier has Lewis Hamilton on the books who can make the journey in the 3 minutes it took between me last checking the location and getting the failed delivery notification. Here’s where the fun started. Contacted Serenata on their online form to ask for an explanation and found myself waist-deep in some kind of Kafkaesque nightmare where a conveyer-belt of Skye’s, Holly’s, Kayla’s (and other wholly unlikely names) simultaneously insisted that the tracking app was accurate and that the delivery driver couldn’t make the delivery because either the address was inaccessible (e.g. a locked gate) or no one answered. I genuinely did not know (and still do not know) whether these are automated responses or whether there are actual human people on the end armed with a (very short) list of stock answers. They insisted that the delivery would be reattempted tomorrow despite my protests that they were now too late and I didn’t want flowers that had been sitting in the back of a delivery van for a full day, overnight and potentially the best part of the next day. Cue virtual bobbing heads and them tripping out the same old mantra that “delivery will be reattempted tomorrow. Sorry if there has been any inconvenience.” Anyway, a very brief search of this company shows they are based in Malta, no ability to contact them, clever (read as: misleading, disingenuous) marketing makes you think they are a local company. Honestly, if nothing else I don’t want these scammers getting another penny of people’s money. If you have £40 to burn, can I suggest simply setting it on fire? It would be quicker and less infuriating and you wouldn’t have to deal with another email from Jemima Puddleduck telling you that your customer experience is very important to them while refusing to enter into any meaningful conversation about whether they have fulfilled their end of an agreement to provide goods and should legitimately be cancelling your order and offering a refund.
