Parkinson’s disease can be a bit of bummer ‘cos it can make your walking a bit funny, which may find a bloke looking for a bit more heel. Add in some weakness and the need for a shoe that doesn’t weigh a ton and the fact that I have two left hands and can’t manage laces, it can be a struggle finding a good shoe for a size 13(+) Mens. But it is not all bad news. The Shoe Garden stocks some women’s boots that a bit ‘menish’. And if I didn’t have Parkinson’s disease I wouldn’t have discovered that ray of sunshine, Carol. To any bloke who is in a similar pickle, don’t feel backward about looking at her website or shop-front dominated by pink and flowers. Carol was able to walk me through the maze of shoe sizes and was spot on with her assessment that the Fizzy (boot) was a ‘lovely shoe and very comfortable’.
