This is weird..I ordered shoes online using the Durham , NC location. About 2 hours after doing the order, I received an email saying the item was out of stock with no refund update attached. There were no options to choose a similar item. U talking about a simple option that could boost sales. I decided to call customer service. The first rep. couldn't tell me refund policy for online orders. She placed me on hold and then returned with an answer saying it goes back to original payment, but couldn't tell me when does this occur (weird). After thinking about her answer, I called back again asking where is a copy of my refund issued. I was informed there will not be a refund receipt sent. It will just drop off after the other part of my order is sent. I order online alot. I never have experienced a company telling me an out of stock item I paid for already will not have a refund receipt generated. Shoe Carnival is top large to lack proper software or to have people there that don't have a clue about refund policy working in customer service. You would think after canceling an item, a company would have means to retain sales by leaving a window to update the order. This option is generally used at large retailers. To cancel an order and no means of generating a refund receipt is odd as well. Training assessments are needed to improve customer service as well. Keep in mind each spoke with a supervisor and still could explain why..I wouldn't advise using their online platform. The company has a "who cares" attitude.
