I didn't need a typical grave marker. When my dad passed in August 24, going through his possesions I found my grandfathers urn. Family knew that my dad his mother, my grandmother but we didn't find her. After a few calls to the crematory in CA, they found my grandmother in a funeral home in WI, she was never picked up and they held on to her for 19 years.
