Terrible customer service if something goes wrong.
I bought two hockey sticks online. After a few weeks a large chunk fell off one of the sticks, then 4 weeks later it just snapped in half (during a friendly game between 9 year olds). I could see that the wood running through the centre of the stick was rotten. So I contacted customer services to report the stick as faulty. They told me there was nothing they could do as the purchase date was more than 28 days ago!
Sports Direct - is it really acceptable to sell a rotten hockey stick and tell me that you don't need to offer a refund because the stick lasted just more than 28 days??? This is terrible customer service and a complete lack of disregard for the customers experience.
The reason given for no refund was. "Your item falls outside of the return period. Please know that exceptions to the return policy are typically challenging to make"
Since my purchase another customer has reviewed the item and written that theirs has snapped in half. There is clearly a faulty batch, for which Sports Direct are refusing to take reponsibility for.
