I recently decided to apply for an overdraft on my Starling account. I had money in all my accounts and had never been overdrawn before.
I found the whole experience to be over complicated and unfriendly towards the self employed. It was such a palaver that I decided to tell them to scrap it and went with a different bank instead. I have never felt so discriminated against for being self-employed and cannot understand why Starling do this to people. I did contact their customer services and they told me it was normal for people who are self-employed.
To be honest I would not recommend starling bank to anyone ever again even though in the past, I would’ve sung their praises.
