Well it started so good for 3 years but now I’m astonished at how ridiculous and unfair they are. Long story short, I don’t have many payments in or out of my business account at all, but they restricted my account as they wanted details of pretty much all transactions. These are small to companies like 1&1 for server fees. It was not apparent that they had restrictions on my account until payments started to be declined This caused issues with my server provider. Funny thing was they had their own loan repayment due, which they paid. That was the final straw One rule for them Unprofessional and quite frankly a disgrace. They should be pulled up for doing things like that. Jog on starling

Absolutely terribly bank to use especially for crypto. It’s been over 2 weeks they have put a hold on my money. It’s £1500 so not much. I have provided all screenshots to show where money came from (Binance) however they give no update and won’t release the money. All they keep saying is they are reviewing. Not sure what they are reviewing. Stay clear of this bank Just to add I did not buy crypto by using debit card. I transferred money from my binance to Starling. It’s been over 2 weeks and Starling have not given any clarity what is going on. Not sure how Starling can say they are protecting their customers by with holding customers money. Money has been held since the 30th of November. So to clarify as per Starling response I did not transfer money using bank transfer and not by debit card either. I transferred into Starling acc. To confirm I was not buying crypto but transferring money to my account If anyone finds this review useful please share it. These banks are just abusing their customers

I'm so frustrated with Starling Bank. I used to love it and recommended it for over 7 years, but the way in which they are handling the saver accounts is appalling, denying them to eligible customers and keeping the reasons absolutely obscure. I'm urgently looking for a new bank.

Useless bank. Have been customer for 8 years. They have removed interest on current accounts. They offer an easy savers account but myself and many others have had application rejected with no reason. Looks like they want to avoid paying interest. Avoid this bank as service is now abysmal.

One of the worst bank I have ever seen in my life. First of they closed my account for no reasons. I was expecting refund from some merchants on starling bank since it was closed they didn’t give me an access. After the money came in to my account they notify me until I called them and asked them if I got refund on my account or not. After knowing I had received money in the account I requested money to my own account which they are lingering for 2 weeks . When ever I approach them they always say they are investigating and reviewing Meanwhile they haven’t even asked me for any supporting documents if they are doing investigating. Seems like they are making excuses to steal my money. They shouldn’t be allowed to operate in the UK for violating the financial regulations set by FCA. They are doing the day light robbery.Because of them I have gone through mental stress and anxiety. Don’t do any transactions through this bank. They will steal your money on the name of review and investigation. Be aware !!!!!

Used to love Starling, used for 5 years but clearly they don’t care anymore. Gave 21000£ of my business money to the government AFTER my company was restored. We missed the confirmation statement date, accounts were frozen only by starling, company was restored and then AFTER starling sent the money to the government and won’t respond on chat,, saying we will get back to you in 15 days!? Literal theft the company was active. Many better options available.

They will at some point freeze your account be warned! They will say it’s an account review and go completely silent and then close your account. They will completely leave you helpless Be warned

Frozen account because customer disputed a payment from 3 years ago. Banks now interfering in commercial disputes and acting against their customers. If you think this is OK, Starling is the bank for you.

Exactly the same as the customer below - I asked why my application to open a fixed-term saver was rejected. Nobody knew. I made a complaint and this is what they said:- “unfortunately we're not able to share any more information on the reason why your application to open a fixed term saver was rejected. It's likely down to meeting eligibility criteria. We understand this is disappointing, and we're sorry for any inconvenience caused”. I only wanted to deposit money with them - I thought mistakenly that they were a bank! 🤣🤷

Had previously been a very happy customer and made recommendations. However, my most recent experience has been terrible. Having recommended Starling for a new business our FD and I have spent hours only to be told an opaque "not eligible". No reason despite holding a number of other accounts with them. Worse the app actually sends an invite out and then displays a server error rather than the issue. Total waste of time.
