Very sturdy, although metallic finish discoloured on one of mine, does not affect performance however. I own a fat and a mtb rack. In future I would only buy fat. You can accommodate any bike with fat as all you have to do is use a $3 pool noodle to cut to size to compensate for wheel size. The rear wheel holder is same for all sizes anyway.
