Tesco’s Own Lemon Curd: The entire contents of the jar I bought have just hit the bin -- my compost bin, and I hope the microbes will enjoy the ‘vibrancy and zing’. I’d rather waste my money than end of up with a stomach ache while Tesco aids and abets destruction of the environment with PALM OIL in more and more and MORE products. What is palm oil doing in a sugar and cornflour-based confiture? There’s no call for oil of any kind in any fruit preserve recipe I know. Palm oil isn’t fit for human consumption; and palm plantations are ruining our shared ecosystem, whether ‘sustainable’ or illegal. So, today, I’ve learnt yet another lesson in Tesco’s relentless drive to ‘fill’ ingredients lists with rubbish; and I’ll have to invest yet more time in reading labels as I inch my way along the aisles!
