We paid £45 to have a large triple kitchen larder delivered on a Saturday with a 3pm to 8pm time slot.
Pre delivery we emptied our old cupboard units and we disposed of them to make room for the new unit.
At 12:42 on the day of delivery we had a call from the driver (drivers mate as 2 man delivery) to say they were half an hour from our delivery. After explaining we weren’t expecting them unit 3pm at the earliest and that we were 12 miles away on the other side of the city we agreed to drop everything and get back home asap to receive the delivery and the best we could do would be to get there within an hour.
The driver said they would do another delivery first then come back to ours.
I text the drivers mobile number at 13:22 to say we’ll definitely be able to take the delivery anytime from 13:45.
Delivery never turned up, no call from the driver and no answer when we called him.
We had a call from the delivery company which rang once the cut off, I had my phone in my hand at the time so couldn’t have answered any quicker, called straight back and just a message to say they are closed.
We are now stuck with an unusable kitchen as we have all the stuff from the old units out, waiting to be put away (we don’t have a large kitchen)
This is an absolute joke and totally unacceptable, at the bare minimum they could have given us a quick call to tell us we weren’t going to receive the delivery instead of letting us site for 6 hours and 15 minutes to the end of the time slot just in case they turned up.
