“Order completed quickly but delivery from BSL was awful - they delivered earlier time but I did recieved second to say they were mins away - they didn’t reply hello when I greeted them and took photo of it in my doorway that I then couldn’t close!! One guy shoved it further at my request and then shut door so I was literally stuck in my own doorway! No manners or politeness about their service”

“On ordering items, we were told some items were out of stock but the email read as if those that were available would be sent out - we ended up waiting weeks for the order as they won’t deliver until everything is available but they don’t tell you that until after you’ve ordered Finally once everything was in stock I was told delivery would be done by a company called BJS - they outsource all their deliveries. BJS are a disgrace! The date they were due to come they called to say they were 20 minutes away, 20 mins later they pulled up outside our house. They sat there for approx 2 mins and then drove off, at which point their head office called us to say they could not make the delivery due to bad weather. I advised the van was outside our house just a second ago but had now left and they told me I was wrong and the van was miles away stuck in bad weather. Cotswolds just booked a new date for delivery, didn’t investigate what had gone on so we waited another week. BJS came back to deliver and although they delivered the goods they were a nightmare. The two men refused to speak to me, it was surreal, they spoke to each other in another language but when I asked them questions they ignored me. I told them 3 of the items were to be taken upstairs - a service I had paid for. They did not want to do this but eventually said they would - they could barely lift one of the boxes and ended up sliding it up against the wall of the stairs. I asked them to stop but they ignored me. When they got to the top they tipped the box up on its end and with their feet kicked it along the floor - I again asked them to stop and said they were damaging the floor - again ignored. I now have scratches in my flooring, marks all up my stairs and a filthy stairs carpet as they refused to remove their shoes when asked. One of them then asked to use my bathroom - I said no, purely because it was out of action, I’d had a leak a few days before and the bathroom flooded - the floor was unsafe and there were no lights working so it was pitch black. The guy said it’s fine he can use it, again I said no, it’s not safe to use, I’m not using it so he certainly shouldn’t. His colleague then said he was getting something from the van and left and at the same time the other guy went into the bathroom, shut the door and locked it! I just didn’t understand what was going on and I was on my own a felt quite vulnerable. After 10 minutes the guy came out of the bathroom, walked past me, shut the door and they drove off. I still had all my items downstairs and none had been unpacked or packaging taken away - which I’d paid for. And to make matter worse my bathroom was left in a disgusting state. I’ve raised all this with Cotswold and it’s taken them weeks to reply and it’s all email - no one has bothered to call me to discuss it or check that I’m ok. They’ve offered me a small discount on my chest of drawers as when the guys kicked it along the floor they put their foot through the box and damaged it. Cotswold advertise as a premium brand and charge matching prices but then use the cheapest courier possible who are not equipped to deal with the type of furniture they make and are just awful. I’m seeking help from citizens advice but I’d give caution ordering from Cotswold Company as they only use BJS as a courier who are rude, incapable of doing the job and damage your property.”

“Received THREE damaged shoe benches. Absolutely awful customer service who ignore emails and are useless over the phone. Will never order from them again. Shoody products and terrible service. Save your money.”

“We paid £45 to have a large triple kitchen larder delivered on a Saturday with a 3pm to 8pm time slot. Pre delivery we emptied our old cupboard units and we disposed of them to make room for the new unit. At 12:42 on the day of delivery we had a call from the driver (drivers mate as 2 man delivery) to say they were half an hour from our delivery. After explaining we weren’t expecting them unit 3pm at the earliest and that we were 12 miles away on the other side of the city we agreed to drop everything and get back home asap to receive the delivery and the best we could do would be to get there within an hour. The driver said they would do another delivery first then come back to ours. I text the drivers mobile number at 13:22 to say we’ll definitely be able to take the delivery anytime from 13:45. Delivery never turned up, no call from the driver and no answer when we called him. We had a call from the delivery company which rang once the cut off, I had my phone in my hand at the time so couldn’t have answered any quicker, called straight back and just a message to say they are closed. We are now stuck with an unusable kitchen as we have all the stuff from the old units out, waiting to be put away (we don’t have a large kitchen) This is an absolute joke and totally unacceptable, at the bare minimum they could have given us a quick call to tell us we weren’t going to receive the delivery instead of letting us site for 6 hours and 15 minutes to the end of the time slot just in case they turned up.”

“Bought from outlet and accept these are seconds. But…. Broken and unfit for purpose. Haven’t used once!!! Store is totally in helpful. Trading standard agree with me. You can’t sell broken items as seconds. They are just broke!”

“EXTREMELY misleading return system. Does state clearly the Extortionate price for returning an item!!!! £40 for a table that wasn’t suitable and came with a orange coloured oak!”

“RUN AWAY I have never seen any websites where you have to pay £20 to return a double bed size bedspread (on top of the postage cost). Terrible customer service and misleading website. Items are really pricey and returns are clearly not an option. RUN AWAY !!!”

“We have been delighted with our products from the Cotswold company and all our visitors have absolutely raved about how lovely the kitchen island and larder cupboard are. They fit an astronomical amount of stuff in there. I have had a little issue with one of the cupboards and the customer service has been exceptional in dealing with it. Thanks, Customer service is so important in the lasting impression of a company”

“Very poor quality table. Within one month the laminate has buckled and come off the top of the table. When we complained someone came to look and said it was our fault for wiping it and putting drinks on it. No refund, replacement or repair offer. It's a dining room table for dining which tends to include drinks. Shockingly bad quality will never ever use again”

“I purchased a fireside chair from my local furniture store Bennett & Brown. The overall quality and finish of this chair very poor. Glue on the wooden legs very poor finish on the upholstery and black plastic instead of cloth on the underneath of the chair. I wished I had gone to a different retailer.”

“I bought two of the Grand Henley Lanterns from the Leamington Spa shop. They are fabulous lanterns and the lovely shop assistants couldn’t have been more helpful, even offering to carry them out to my car. Highly recommend!”

“I really like the Cotswold Company products and in the past haven't had any particular issues. However when i recently spent a considerable amount of money on a dressing table, two large wardrobes, a chair and bedside table from the Camille Lime wash Oak range, I was extremely disappointed by the quality. The dressing table was returned twice as was one of the wardrobes. The manufacturer has used different pieces of wood (not sure its all Oak) which on my pieces was initially not a problem, however after a short while the wood changed colour and now the look of products has changed and it is disappointing and i consider the look and quality of the products are not really worth the money paid. All the items have a lime wash on them and i feel i should have been told that the colour and look of the product would change and that the wardrobe drawers and dressing table legs would not be made from a single piece of oak. The customer support have tried to help and did reimburse me £150 but on a products that were expensive for example one wardrobe cost £1750, i thin k i should have been offered more compensation. I am very disappointed and certainly wouldn't say the range is worth the money and support and after care could certainly be improved.”

“If you like the quality of Ikea furniture, then their furniture should be ok for you. The wardrobe looks nice until you open the doors and then you realise how light and flimsy it is. And the drawers on chest of drawers are incredibly difficult to open and close. They used to have dovetail joints, but now it's all staples. I've bought a couple of pieces of furniture from The Cotswold Company back in 2018 and was excited to buy some more as those pieces were so well-built. But, they've reduced quality and increased prices. I never leave reviews, but I'm so disappointed with this, I had no choice. I will never buy from them again - it's not worth it.”

“DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY absolutely shocking paid a lot of money for a bed which was just left out side my house and paid £90 for a certain delivery which they didn’t stick to. Went to out the bed together and the bed was damaged. Called through customer service are shocking do not want to listen and help at all. Said they will send a new bed said I can’t be at home until 6:30 to take the bed and off load the other bed. They didn’t turn up when I asked didn’t take the damaged bed and went to put the new one together and have a complete important part of the bed missing. Stay away from this Company I will not be ordering another thing from this company they promise to call you and never do shock”
