The chiles were shipped as expected, were all fresh, and were as spicy as I selected. I have kids, so I chose "medium" and they were about on par with a jalapeno. Years ago I ordered a "very hot" batch and they were very intense yet somewhat mellow to the tongue compared to other peppers of a similar spice. I like making chili verde with these or sauteeing them to top eggs or cheeseburgers.
