My 86yo mother was born in 1937 in Albuquerque and came to Cali around 1950. By then, NM green chile (NMGC) was as essential for her, as breathing. Her family sent NMGC in quantity to freeze for the entire yr. Now that they are all dead, she still buys it from connections she has. I decided to try The Hatch Chile Store and wasn't disappointed. Just like the stuff I grew up on. It's part of my make-up to despite being born in Cali.
