Native New Mexican here--now living elsewhere. I bought frozen hot roasted green chile and am comparing to the one brand of frozen NM green chile I can find in my local grocery store. And it's not even close. The Hatch Chile Store roasted green is superior in every way. Taste, freshness, heat are far better. The grocery store stuff, annoyingly, often has stems and skin in it. Hatch Chile Store chile is very clean--ready to use right out of the bag. It's the right color and texture, and tastes like home. Sure, it costs a little more to buy it this way, but it's worth it. I'll be back.
