Two weeks ago I went to The Range at Hilsea in Portsmouth. I arrived at 9 10am. There were already quite a few people in the store as usual. I found what I wanted immediately and headed for the tills. On my way I saw a customer just leaving customer services with his purchases. As I have done on previous visits I went to customer services and asked could I pay there and was told in an unpleasant way ‘ There’s a queue there go to the back of it’. I was stunned at the way in which I was spoken to. I looked around a display and sure enough there was a queue. So I joined it. I continued to see others being served at customer services. When I reached the front of the queue I was called over by the shop assistant that had spoken to so shoddily before. I asked her why she had turned me away earlier. She told me that she calls people over from the queue. Which I must say seemed perfectly reasonable. I asked her why she hadn’t told me that and why she spoke to me in such a nasty way. I did not raise my voice swear or become aggressive at any time. She then smacked my purchase down on the counter and snarlingly said to me Find someone else to serve ya. I stepped away and stood for two or three minutes to catch my breath. I was I was upset and needed to compose myself. I asked a passing worker who I could speak to to make a complaint. She came back with a supervisor. I explained what had happened and was told twice s that she’s not usually like that and as if I was a half wit I was told what customer services is for. Dissatisfied and upset I was finally told about Let Us Know and waited for the supervisor to get me one. I joined the queue for the second time and just before leaving I read the leaflet and saw the slot for members name. On my way to the door I saw the supervisor and asked her for the staff members name. She wrote it down for me. It was at this point that the woman I now know to be Jackie left her position at customer service and came to tell the supervisor all about I presume. On seeing me with the supervisor she backed away. I want to make it clear that in the dozens of times I’ve visited your store In Portsmouth and Gosport this is the first bad experience I’ve had.
