I went to the Range store in Taunton, looked around and decided to purchase various garden furniture. I spoke to a worker there who on my behalf ordered via their computer and I paid and left the store looking forward to receiving my garden furniture in the near future. However when it arrived I immediately noticed that the wrong table had been delivered and told the delivery drivers who informed me that they couldn't do anything about it and to contact the store. This I did immediately, I was told that I couldn't return the still boxed up table to them and would have to physically drive to their store in Taunton ( I live in North Devon ) in order to arrange a collection, it appears it couldn't be done via online as the original order was done in store. The shop worker had put the wrong item number unbeknownst to me.I had to drive there again and go to customer services where a member of staff arranged a collection,and was told that as soon as it has been collected I could come and get a refund the same day. The table was collected, I was given a receipt showing proof it had been collected. I called the Taunton store to tell them that its been collected and I was having to drive to them again to get my refund. The manager then informed me the staff member had wrongly informed me about the refund process and I was told I had to wait until the delivery company dispatched the table to a warehouse which could take about a week or so before I could get my money back. I was furious. The range had taken my money and table yet not able to refund me despite proof that I no longer had the table. I waited a week, called Taunton store back to be informed that nothing was showing on their system. In desperation I called the range headquarters and spoke twice to them who were really helpful and said they had received the table back and I was able to once again drive to Taunton range store and get my money back. I drove there and met the most unhelpful rude manager, she didn't believe the official receipt given to me by the collection service, nor the emails on my phone and then phoned headquarters directly in front of me , her attitude was of a couldn't care less about me , she looked a fool when headquarters told her to immediately refund me which she reluctantly did. Her attitude was disgusting towards a customer who had spent over £ 1500,00 in the store. I also asked her how long is the guarantee on garden furniture, she said its only 6 months with the range, after 6 months it apparently is up to the customer to take up complaints with the supplier not the range. Had I known this I would never have purchased anything from them. To sum up , I did eventually get my refund, it was extremely stressful and time consuming especially as I had to make several long 100 mile round trips, expensive petrol and time wasted. I am grateful to headquarters for finally helping me but I will never buy anything from The Range again. The staff that served me in the Taunton store especially the manageress are rude and do not give a damm about their customers. Never again will I buy from them. Even giving a rating of 1 star is too high for the lack of customer care shown by them.
