An absolute joke of a company. I ordered a Phaewo e-scooter which arrived faulty. Within days of riding it, it developed all sorts of issues that eventually resulted in it ceasing to work altogether.
Communication with TomTop was challenging at best and incredibly frustrating. They wanted videos which I sent only to be told that they would only accept videos uploaded to YouTube. I was then accused of miss use and the warranty would not be honoured as a result. I was then told to take it to a local repair shop to get it fixed (they were allegedly going to pay some of the cost). Sadly, it still could not be fixed.
TomTop then said that the only way I was going to get a refund was to return the scooter to them in it’s original condition and packaging. Seeing as it had now been accessed by a repair shop, and not in the original condition/ packaging, this was going to be impossible. Also, a quote to ship it back from the UK said it was going to cost more than the scooter itself.
Use this company at your own risk. They are crooks.
UPDATE...After asking me to contact them following this review, they then again accused me of damaging the scooter myself and said that my request for a refund did not constitute a ‘normal’ psychological frame of mind...it’s up to you but these are thieves con artists.
