Toyota planned obsolescence at just 15 years ownership for a 2009 Prius: Theyno lo ger make replacement display units (in the front dashboard) for the 2009 Prius, so the Toyota repair department is obliged to find a repacement on ebay for my friend's Prius. I have a 2012 Prius, but it makes both her and me not want to buy from Toyota anymore. Keep that in mind folks when you consider buying from Toyota. They no longer necessarily back their products for the long term, at least not as long as they used to. They're living off their old reputation that they apparently no longer earn or are entitled to.
