I find Travelodge to be a totally reliable brand that's usually good value. It's great for business trips and also perfectly fine for a couple's weekend away if we don't need to spend too much time in our room. For business trips, the website makes it easy to search the location and cost of Travelodge hotels in the area I need to visit and the booking process is straightforward. The cancellation option is particularly helpful in my professional role, because meetings are sometimes cancelled at short notice. For work, there's nearly always a Travelodge within a few miles of where I need to be. As a solo female traveller, I can ask for a room in a good spot within the hotel, and the rooms are kitted out with a desk, so I can work, plus a kettle and supplies to keep caffeine levels up. However, the plastic bucket chairs aren't the comfiest! The staff are always helpful and seem happy to sort out any problems, for example, a kettle that won't stop boiling, a shower curtain that leaks water or a wall heater that's on strike.
