There were no glasses/plastic beakers in the bathroom, the toilet seat was loose, the fan in the bathroom did not work. Our first night was spoilt by a car alarm going off at 2 am which continued for at least half hour. The following day we went out a 9 am and returned at approx. 9.30 pm. Our room had not been serviced. The hand towel we had put on the bathroom floor to use as a bath mat was still on the floor and the floor was still wet. The bed was not made. On going to reception to complain we were given another 3 hand towels and were told that bath mats were not provided. Our second night was again spoiled by a smoke alarm going off at 3 am. We were so disappointed that we decided to return home the following day rather than stay the third night which we had booked. When leaving on Sunday morning the reception was closed. Wishing to speak to someone we banged on the counter. An employee came through from the office. On being told why we were leaving early she informed us that Travelodge do not service rooms. We were never told this. If we had been we would have stayed elsewhere. For the price we paid, the service provided was inferior. We realise the alarms were not the fault of the hotel/staff. I feel under these circumstances we should be reimbursed at least the cost of the Sunday night.
