We placed an order through Uber Eats tonight. After waiting an appropriate time, our driver informed us that she was waiting for our order. Shortly after, our driver called and said that the restaurant told her that they were no longer affiliated with Uber Eats and that they would not be making our food. The driver didn’t know what to do as she was there to pick up. I didn’t know what to do as I ordered through the Uber Eats app so they should have been affiliated. So, I called the store and the manager informed me that they gave all their stuff back to Uber and that I would have to cancel my order because they didn’t have the tablet to accept the order. So, I contacted customer support and after going through the automated system, customer support refused to give me a full refund because I canceled the order ‘after the restaurant started to prepare my order’. I told them over and over that the restaurant didn’t even accept my order. They didn’t see my order because they returned the tablet. I even asked customer support to contact both the manager at the restaurant and the driver to confirm my complaint. They refused to do so and refused to return my full refund. I understand the fee if I order and I cancel on my part. But, the restaurant refused the order so this was not on my part in any way. In fact, I had very hungry kiddos that were eagerly awaiting their food. This was bad on the restaurant and on Uber Eats. I want to know who I need to contact to get my full refund. This is definitely not okay.
