On Thursday, June 20,2024, I placed an order on Uber eats and somehow Uber eats pinned the wrong address. I did not realize that until the order was paid for. I instantly tried to change the address and the website would not allow me to do it and said that they would charge me to cancel the order and redo it. I then reached out to the Uber driver Ciarra through the Uber app messaging. In the message I stated that they had the wrong address. I input the correct address, and asked if it could be delivered to the correct address ? At first she never responded. Then I got a message from Uber stating that the driver was trying to contact me. So I text the driver and they said that they were here. So I look out my front door there was no one there. So then the driver tells me that she was at the incorrect address. I told her I sent her a message with the correct address and asked if she could come to that correct address. The driver stated that she had an ice cream delivery to do and if she could do that first she would then deliver my order. I said yes that would be perfectly fine. I even offered an extra $10 tip for her coming to the correct address off of the tip I already gave in the app. She stated yes she would do that. She also stated that she needed the p i n number for the order. So I gave it to her thinking nothing of it as this was my first time ordering from Uber eats I really was not aware of how everything worked. I came to find out that after the fact when you give the driver the pin number they enter it confirming the delivery. If I would have known that before I would not have given her the pin number. With that being said after almost an hour and I never received my food I tried reaching out to the driver but I was unable to message her any longer. So I then reached out to Uber eats. At first they said they could not deliver me a refund because the order was confirmed as being delivered. But when I explained to them how can the order have been delivered if I'm complaining that I did not receive my order. And that driver went to the wrong address. They've been stated that the delivery was pinned as delivered and they have confirmation of that. And I explained to them that if it was not at the address given to the driver then it was not delivered to me. So then after going a few rounds with someone through texting and support I was told that I would be giving a refund. A full refund, I also stated that I wanted the driver's tip removed. Because if she would have said she could not deliver to my address I would have told her just to take it back to the store and I would have kindly picked it up from the store, or had it picked up by another driver. So not only did the driver get a tip from me, she also kept the food, and Uber kept my money. I ended up going to where my food was supposedly delivered and the security there said yes someone was there and had attempted to deliver food but took the order back with them. If Uber thinks it is okay to keep almost $60 from a customer because their app pinned a wrong address, their driver not only kept the food and tip but lied about delivering the food. If they think that is okay and that is a way to do business they are sadly mistaken. And I will make a mountain out of a molehill and sue them! If my rating could be a minus one star it definitely would be! Uber eats you need to do better!
