I ordered food the other night first off I had four charges on my bank statement, one and the amount of $76.80 Another in the amount of 57.83 Another in the amount of 44.40 And the last one was 23.15. So I contacted Uber Eats via messaging because on the app there is no phone number to contact them directly. I questioned all these charges and was told that the 76.80 was for a membership. iMessage back and said hold on a second I would’ve never authorized any membership for $76.80. The man said no problem. Let me cancel that for you and we will refund your money. It will take 3 to 5 business days and I obviously screenshot that message from Uber Eats stating that. Then the person on Uber Eats messaging said let me finish one thing before I move onto the next, I said it OK thank you! I’m thinking this is going to be fixed! That Uber Eats is going to fix the situation because it’s clearly an error! Boy was I wrong! This is how it all started. I placed an order the other night for Chilies. The order was supposed to contain five items. That was boneless wings, bone-in wings, cheese fries, and a triple dipper, and they charge for side of sauce so that counts as another item. That is the total of 5 items. So then I go to review the order and without doing anything, the order is placed. Like I did not literally hit submit it place the order. So now with the order placed, I’m finally able to review it and I see that one of the items is missing. Well, you know that on the app there is a little section with a clock timing down it states if you forget something you have this amount of time to add it on order button to add additional items! So I go ahead and add the additional item! So now it shows up as a separate order! It does not even add it to my existing order like it says, if you forget something which I did not forget it because when I was adding it, it was still there from when I had looked it up on the menu, the first time and it’s the amount of wings, the sauces and everything. Just for some reason, it did not add to the original order. I believe it was a glitch with Uber system Why it didn’t add the first time when I added it! So now I have two orders that will be delivered by two separate people in a matter of minutes I go to the help button to try and call Uber and explain this to them. It’s the same order, but of course there’s no number to call them, but there is a cancel button, so I went ahead and canceled it both, to redo my order on 1 ticket which I did and made sure it stated 5 items were on 1 ticket and I placed the order. No problem. Well I go and check my bank statement. That’s when I see all these charges and that’s what ended me up contacting via chat Uber Eats , Uber Eats chat was so rude. Well they refunded the $78 charge that was for membership that I told them that I clearly did get. I did a screenshot of the Uber Eats message and he said he would cancel it. It takes 3 to 5 days to be refunded to my account so once that was done, we went on to the other three charges. They stated they were not going to give me my money back because the order was placed. I told them I literally canceled it in less than two minutes and placed the order back over again that the restaurant was not out any or had to throw away any food that I’m sure the restaurant used common sense and seen the order come and be canceled and the exact same order with everything on one ticket was made. They stated they have to pay the restaurant, But why would you pay them or why would a restaurant take money for something they did not do. And I told them when I clicked the cancel button it does not state if you cancel the order in the help section that you’re going to be charged for this either way because I would’ve never canceled it! And not for nothing before I knew all of these charges were on my account that I complained about the food because it was cold overcooked! And sent them a picture of it, and they said they were refunding me for that, but they weren’t giving me back the full amount for it and I tossed in the trash. Item was $14 and some change on the menu but they were refunding me $13 and some change but I was not going to complain because I don’t usually complain I just said ok and thank you about the over cooked cold fries! But in the app, when I was tracking the driver, he sat there at that restaurant for a long time! That being said that restaurant never cook my first order in two minutes and toss it in the trash and then quickly cooked the second order for him to sit there as long as he did it was because they were running behind! That being said when I placed the very original order, they never even pulled anything out for it! In the matter of two minutes! Uber is just really scamming people! How do we know that they’re paying the restaurant for the canceled order? I’m surely going to contact Chili’s Because if they are charging customers for an order that was canceled in two minutes, that’s a problem too then chili and Uber Eats are in it together! Their both in the business, ripping people off! With so many issues happening that night my first order being processed without me pushing a button a membership being added for almost $80. The food coming over cooked and cold like I can’t even believe I’m on this site doing this.! And I was disconnected from the chat like four times and one of the guys in the chat said he was sorry about me being in charge for a cancel order. He was gonna take care of it and I screenshot that too.
