There are price mark ups on everything.
They mark up the price on the food.
You get taxed plus a delivery fee if you don’t have the, “ membership”.
Plus the tip.
I’ve literally used this app for years. And it seems like it’s getting worse and worse..
If you need customer service, you’re going to get a bot.
If the delivery driver messes something up, they won’t fix it and they are rude.
And I’m sorry, but with how much money you spend for all the fees and the markup plus the membership fee, having your order be wrong well over half the time or have things missing well over half the time.. is inconvenient.
The whole point of this app is convenience. If I’m paying so many fees for that convenience, in the very least my order shouldn’t be wrong over 65% of the time.
I have literally driven for Uber eats and the app even tells you to verify the food before you leave the restaurant. What’s worse is I have read several reviews, where if you have too many complaints or refunds they will either ban your account or you will no longer be eligible For a refund on future orders.
Considering how many of my orders are either missing food or completely wrong, I find this policy to be ridiculous.
Yeah, sure there are people who do abuse the system, but when you have a 65% failure rate, a majority of people complaining are probably not trying to get free food.
I use this app. It’s almost religiously several times a week.
And yeah, sure you get a refund if something is missing from your order, but part of the reason I love this app is it convenient for me as a parent so I don’t have to leave the house and get toddlers in the car.
It’s part of my order is missing or most of it. That means either me or my children aren’t going to eat.
And if I have to re-order because the order originally was incorrect.. I am now paying more fees, and an additional tip.
At some point, there has to be some kind of an accountability for the driver is not doing a good job.
They are rude, they don’t read directions, and they don’t make sure your order is correct.
That’s literally the entire job other than dropping it off at a house.
Yet I see Uber drivers on social media complaining that they aren’t getting tipped well. It is the same as every other job. You have to be nice, you do your best to resolve any customer issues, and you review your work before you call it completed.
Again, this is coming from someone who has done Uber Eats for supplemental income.
Overall, everything about this service is lacking. The “promotion” that stay pedal half the time don’t work.
Customer service is a joke on all accounts.
And you pay an absorb amount of fees for the inconvenience of your order being wrong or missing over half the time.
This year, I finally decided to cancel my service.
I’ll either be using another service, or I’ll just get my own food.
If I went to the restaurant myself my order would be $20
If I go through Uber Uber eats it’s more like 45.
Plus the monthly membership fee that I pay.
If I’m paying double the price for the food, the service might as well be decent.
What’s even crazier is, this is not the only complaint I’ve seen like this. There are countless in the App Store. And countless everywhere online.
Do yourself a favor and just use Postmates or something better like DoorDash
