If I could rate 0 stars, I would because even 1 star is too generous. First, the Uber Eats app was not clear about the pricing. My meal with taxes should have cost close to 35 (29$ + 5$ tip). Uber Eats charged me a delivery fee and a system fee that bumped my order to 41+ dollars. These hidden fees were exactly that — hidden and when I complained, Uber Eats did nothing to rectify the situation. They just provided a breakdown of the price. This shouldn’t be allowed. It’s called transparency! Uber Eats should have indicated that they charged these fees. If Skip the Dishes does and it’s up front and centre, why should Uber Eats not behave in a similar way?
Second, my food arrived cold. And I mean really cold. I had to put it in the microwave, for crying out loud. I mean, you don’t order takeout or delivery to have it delivered cold. Again, Uber Eats refused to do anything about that. The least they could have done is give me a 10-15$ credit if they didn’t want to reimburse me.
It’s the second time I order from Uber Eats. And the first time was just as horrific as the second. So, needless to say it’ll be the last! As the saying goes: Shame on you if you fool me once, shame on me if you fool me twice. I don’t like to play the fool so there you go.
