Appalling service Update on ups Appalling service, or rather lack thereof Item posted via a UK company to Cork, Ireland in time guaranteed Christmas delivery. No sign of item, no update on tracking reference. Inconsistent stories from staff when you eventually get through to someone. Promises of call-back within the hour that that are never honoured. When I called again to ask why I have waited for two responses, not received, I am told that the department is, already closed so the call would never have been forthcoming. I was told they do not have a section that deals with complaints and there are no senior staff in charge. I shall be boycotting companies that deal with UPS in favour of those that use professional Couriers. This blatant disregard for clients and their customers is either a very arrogant move or a fast way to give the competition more business. Good Afternoon Today has been the final straw. Having noticed 'returning to sender' on the status of my parcel I wasted my time this morning making countless calls to your number only to be passed from pillar to post and no further forward. Struggling to understand the accent of the staff on the lines, I managed to glean that apparently it was refused by the recipient, which is pretty impressive given the fact that we have been told: the address is incomplete (email confirmation that all is correct) it has been lost, damaged and the final story was tha it has been mislaid so how they managed to attempt a delivery to someone who is retired and in lockdown and has been contacting the same helpline for updates, is a complete surprise. No attempt has been made to deliver this and despite an attempt to halt the item being sent back via Niteline, I spent a further hour trying to do just that with a tracking number for UPS and not the correct number needed for Niteline, despite your staff saying we had to call them ourselves to put a stop on it. The call back promised within the hour at 12.00 still had not arrived at 1.00pm but this is no surprise as the last four occasions of such a promises remain outstanding. No one will give me the name of the CEO or an email address for anyone in authority, presumably to protect them from seeing the colossal lack of service offered by all concerned. On purchasing this case of Champagne via Laithwaites, it was scheduled in time to make one of the last posting dates before Christmas and Brexit. I am therefore unable to re-order becuase of the block on delivery to Ireland etc and have lost the opportunity to order at this offer price now anyway. I am beyond furious and have decided to update Trustpilot to warn other unsuspecting consumers of the difficulties and disappointments that lie ahead if you purchase through companies that use UPS. The lack of service and process defies belief in 2021 and I can only assume that as a company you must be winding down and therefore no longer have any pride in what you offer. You should be ashamed given the size of your Company - truly the worst service I have ever encountered AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!
