I am a disabled adult who have been with utilita for years and never had problem until now. As I'm disabled I used to receive a warm home discount which discontinued after they replaced their box when it nearly caused a fire with no fault of my own. Seven months later I received a letter stating that I owe £342.27 and that I had made an agreed payment date which I never. The only letter I received was 7 months later. They even added £10 service charge to the existing payment. They requested me to pay the £342.27 to avoid further action. This was the only letter I received since the incident. So as well as not continuing with the warm home discount resulting in me paying full electric and gas They caused me significant stress as a result of the whole situation. When I phoned to complain I was told by the customer service that they did not want to talk to me and left it all to the poor customer service lady who I literally felt for in the end. I am currently looking for a new provider
