Just received my 500# set of Alpha V2.0 plates. The photos and positive reviews do not do these plates justice. I was skeptical about the colors, but they are tasteful and easily recognizable. I debated heavily between these plates and the likes from Rogue, American Barbell, Fringe Sport, Rep Fitness and dare I say . . . Titan. Although thicker than a training or competition plate (but thinner than a "crumb" or other bumper plate), the lack of a center hub to come loose, the tight tolerance, dead bounce and $/lb (especially when considering the free shipping) offer a value that simply cannot be beat. Plus, they look unique without being obnoxious, and next to no odor, which is a real plus. Well done, Vulcan. I am so pleased that I am going to add another 500#. My only complaint is the production sticker adhered to the inner hub is a PITA, but can appreciate that it does not adhere well to the plate, so the hub is the only option.
