While I am very happy with the new device and it’s scheduling capabilities, I am still annoyed about the programmed end of life of my previous device. I can understand equipment failing. I can understand warranty periods. But I am not fond of writing code that explicitly terminates the functionality of a Thermostat after 7 years. My house and heating system is built for many more. Having said so, I understand that the issue is of the manufacturer not the reseller and I hope the manufacturer gets the message and changes his philosophy on how to generate future business. The reseller itself was very responsive, answered my questions quickly accurately and shipped the replacement product in no time. I was able to replace the product myself without the need of an electrician.
