Dishonest and lies - ignore marketing hype Wrote to Declan Bailey on 25 August 21 about the below. No response. Not surprised when all of the below points to a company that is dishonest and has no issues lying at the highest level. Warrantywise refused my claim to replace Shocks Absorbers (SA) on the grounds of “heavy misting”. They justified this by sending me a link from an Australian website which states, “Heavy DIRT” This is because the words “heavy misting” linked to SA do not exist on this planet. It is heavy leaking. According to Warrantywise there is no difference between oil and dirt. The company creates words so they do not have to pay claims and increase profits. That is why they have chosen not to give its customers the option to go for independent arbitration if you disagree with the company. You MUST take them to Court. A good reason not to buy or renew your warranty with this company. Their engineer described one SA as “heavy misting” when its heavy leaking due to being defective. Audi had already confirmed heavy leaking and needing replacement. MOT passed 7 weeks earlier with no advisories i.e. no issues with SA. Willson found another excuse to reject my claim - wear and tear. How can a SA go from perfect to HEAVY leaking in 7 weeks and be wear and tear (see B3.2 of T&C)? They then found another excuse - co-founder told me “leaking is not covered” yet they say in their marketing hype they paid out at least 14 such claims, one costing £9k! So no issues lying at the highest level. Warrantywise proudly say Quentin Willson is the arbitrator / has last say and we are all supposed to say fantastic. Let’s look at some facts. Willson helped Toby Whittaker (the father of the owner of Warrantywise) market Store First promising 85% return in six years – check it out on YouTube or google the words "Store First and Willson". This is a must read before you purchase a warranty. Store First was shut down and investors lost some £300 million including many pensioners. How much of the £25 million Willson is now worth came from marketing this company? Did he pay back the money he earned from this company to the poor pensioners? I cannot find anything maybe he will tell us. Website says, “It was one of the highest profile as its advertising and marketing materials were fronted by television presenter Quentin Wilson.” He is doing it again with Warrantywise. Willson says “I'm so confident that Warrantywise is the market leader, I'm prepared to say in writing that I believe it is the UK’s best used car warranty you can buy." The last time he said something so confidently pensioners and others lost all their money due to Willson making false promises of 85% return. Do not fall for this hype. Willson was convicted in Court for clocking back mileage when he was a car dealer. He is NOT the owner of the company neither is he a shareholder. He is a paid consulted and no doubt paid handsomely. The question you have to ask is this – is Willson going to look after the company’s interest that pays him or your interest as the customer. This is called conflict of interest and normally people in such positions declare this so that customers can make objective decisions. Willson has opted not to do this. Warrantywise’s profits are down by almost £1million. Could this be behind the refusal of my genuine claim and the lies and excuses and weasel words? The company says it paid the following claims (this is just three examples of over 1000). No wonder a lot of customers are disappointed because they are brainwashed into thinking they will pay all claims including in excess of £40,000! High time Willson started to level up with the people who have trusted him and provide date of registration of these cars, the date the claim was made and the amount paid for each claim. Also, what claims have been rejected so that customers can make objective decisions. This they won’t do as it is all marketing hype just like Store First. Look for a company with no marketing hype and false promises and access to independent arbitration (a must). LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR Engine £40,701.00 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO Engine £40,614.23 MCLAREN MP4-12C Gearbox £26,000.00 Response to Warrantywise's response: Your engineer did not know the fact that 7 weeks prior to his inspection, the car passed MOT without any advisories. Also if it was not sudden failure, why did warrantywise staff google the internet to find the words "heavy misting" which does not exist and linked it with heavy dirt to justify its decision? When that didn't work you responded its wear and tear. When that did not work, you lied and said its leaking. Isn't this the reason why you do not offer arbitration so that you can reject genuine claims by continuing to move the goal post including lying? Reply from Warrantywise 2 hours ago Good morning, I am very sorry to hear you are unhappy with the outcome of your recent repair request; however, I would like to clarify that we declined your repair request based on the findings of the Independent Vehicle Examiner we instructed to your vehicle, given that they stated your shock absorbers hadn't suffered a Sudden Mechanical Breakdown, as defined within your Warranty Terms. I must assure you that no Warranty company will cover you for a part that has not yet suffered a failure. I appreciate this is not ideal, nor is it the outcome you would have hoped for; nonetheless, you have been advised of our final stance on this matter and this is the decision we will abide by, of which is in full adherence with our Terms and Conditions. I apologise that we cannot assist you further here. Regards, Olivia
