Where to start?? I had to pay 100% of their costs up front (two months ahead of delivery) Then I had to order and pay for tiles separately. Next I had to agree to pay the fitter 40% above Wickes estimate. Then things really went downhill. Not all the items arrived as planned, but the outstanding items were "ïmminent" so I agreed with the fitter to go ahead. One working day before the planned work, Wickes suddenly announced that the outstanding items were delayed. - So I had to cancel the fitter at short notice. The following week I waited in twice but nothing arrived ...then the following Monday - 07.45 the fitter arrived, saying that Wickes had told him that I had agreed! Another non delivery followed the next week. Apparently I had ordered a shower unit which was no longer in production (they didn't tell me that when they took my money. Enough - I cancelled the order, and then the equipment turned up! I had to chase Wickes for a refund, and then I almost declined their compensation offer, but decided it wasn't worth arguing any more, To cap it all, the meagre compensation will be a cheque... in about three weeks time.
