AVOID DELIVERY WITH WICKES
I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that I have to share this. Here is my story so far with Wickes.
On the 20/03/2019 I have order 7 internal doors personally from Southampton Extra, with requested date of delivery on the 13/04/2019. I have specifically asked whether the item is available as I had to schedule the builder on the same date for fitting. It was confirmed that every item is available and I have paid £485 in full.
On Saturday (13/04/2019) I have received a phone call around 10 am that the item is out of stock, therefore the delivery had to be rescheduled. So first of all, they are happy to take the full amount for the goods, and then sell the goods I have already paid for to other customers and now I am left with no doors and a builder at my house... Taking that aside, mistakes can happen, so I have waited for the update which came on Monday (15/04/2019) indicating that the full order will be delivered on Tuesday (16/04/2019). Ok this is not too bad I thought and I am desperate to get the doors delivered at this stage so accepted it. Delivery window is from 8am - 6pm...
So it is Tuesday... Just to make sure that everything is on track I have called Wickes around lunchtime (bear in mind no tracking was provided for the delivery, although if you want to check with DX the delivery company the tracking number is the first thing they ask for...). So I am told at lunchtime that something happened, delivery is not coming. 10 minutes later got a call back, that this is not correct, delivery is indeed coming. 6pm, still no sign of delivery. Called Wickes, they are telling me that the goods were incorrectly loaded and had to go back to depot, and there is no time to deliver today. They will deliver next day (today - 17/04/2019). So, good luck for me staying home all day again, like I don't have a full time job to attend...
This takes us to today. Last night I was told that my delivery will be priority and will come in the morning. Guess what, it did not come in the morning. I have called in a couple of times so far to get some updates from customer services, they can't tell me anything as DX the delivery company has not contacted them with updates. And I ask how on earth is Wickes been operating in the 21st century??? I can even track my £20 worth wedding invite delivery online but we have no idea where my £485 worth of goods are??? I am one step beyond dissatisfied this stage and I cannot get any information out of Wickes at all. Then I receive a message asking for rating the delivery experience (which I yet to receive)... What is wrong with this company???
Upon desperation I am trying to contact DX myself. Guess what - live chat is not working, any number I call askw for the tracking number (which I was not provided with). I can somehow get through the automated voice message and they state 'we are now putting you in touch with the next available operator'. No operator is available and then automatically hang up the phone.
I am speechless and utterly disappointed. Wickes, you are not living up to your 'Let's do it right' motto by any measure.
16:14 - got a call from Wickes, stating that tracking shows that my order was. Strange, I think I would remember accepting delivery for 7 internal doors... or at least you would think they check that the right person is signing the delivery. So the £1 million question, where are my doors???
I never ever had such a hard time receiving goods that I have paid for. Colossal failure... Can anybody from Wickes actually pick up this case?
