How stressful! We are relieved that the kitchen is in and that we no longer have to deal with Wren on a daily basis. We were so excited and seemed reassured when visiting the showroom. We explained (Thought we had explained) exactly what we wanted - We wanted cupboard doors in our utility room to cover the washing machine, Dryer and boiler. The fitter came round for a 'pre fit'.. This was basically to re-measure what had already been measured, There was no mention about what height we had to have the plumbing or anything mentioned about the utility, however.. Being someone that hasn’t had a kitchen installed before, i wasn’t actually sure. Once the items were finally delivered and the installer came in we were told that the plumbing had to be moved and that I had to find a plumber before the next morning to do the job, after the stress (and additional cash) of this unexpected work the fitter tells me that he can do this for an additional £130.00 which we obviously had to go for due to time constraints. The cupboard/ More hidden costs – mentioned before in the utility room.. we obviously told them at the showroom what we wanted, assuming that it would be fitted (However that would be) However no frame/Materials where sent, basically to be told we had to pay £450.00 for a Wooden frame!!!!! And the frame wouldn’t of been the same colours etc as the doors. We asked for Wren to take the doors back as would rather pay a carpenter/not give them/the fitter any more money. Following on from this.. There are the little things that link up to complete the kitchen.. 1. No hole cut for the vent of the extractor fan. 2. No hole cut for the plug of extractor fan – leaving the electrician to hope for the best to find the socket. 3. No hole cut for the gas and electric – electrician had to move/cut the glue used to get the cupboard out to find the plug. Gas fitter had to then come in and guess where the pipes where. 4. Plinths fitted to untiled floor so would not go back in – fitter had to come back to cut these down. Customer service/lack of communication 1. Passing the blame on to anyone possible 2. Removing temporary worktops – being told it should be done by the fitter and then not 3. Being told that it was our fault for not mentioning the extra works in the utility If and when we ever have a kitchen done in the future.. I will be avoiding Wren at all costs!
