I have been buying from AliExpress for a few years now. I'd say 9 out of 10 items i order are ok. for the tenth order, you just lose your money.. it often cost as much to return an item as the purchase price. The sellers know they operate with impunity and some are disreputable.
Also, they seriously filter out any bad reviews. And they don't allow reviews at all it you choose to dispute an item.
You get what you pay for with AliExpress. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
