I have a weekly delivery from Asda on a Sunday between 11am and 1pm. This Sunday 28 August I received a text saying my order was out for delivery, but by 2.30 it still hadn’t arrived so I contacted customer services. Apparently the driver didn’t turn up for work this morning so my shop was never going to arrive. I understand these things happen but contacting me first thing and informing me of the problem would have been the acceptable thing to do rather than waiting for me to phone to find out too late in the day to do anything about it. Why do they need my phone number if they are not going to use it at a time like that. I’m furious. Order cancelled and Sainsburys got the business.
