My disabled daughter has always shopped in Asda and we always said how nice the staff were and how the food was good value for money. She always spent between £200 to £300 every shop. On occasions because of her disability she has done online orders and has never had any problems. Last year some time she placed an online order again for a very big shop, when the shopping arrived my daughter was on her own so asked the driver if he would help her to take her shopping up one flight of stairs, she had never had any problems before as most of the other drivers she had asked always helped as they could see she was struggling to do it on her own, she usually has someone with her but was on her own. The driver was very rude and said he was not insured to carry her shopping and if he hurt himself was she going to pay him sick pay. She told him to stop shouting at her and told him to just leave it and she would wait till her neighbour came home to help her. She was very upset but then she just forgot about it. She has still continued to go to the shop for her shopping but if she is having difficulty walking she does her online order. Last year approx October or November she tried to do an order and it all seemed to go through but was then cancelled at the very last minute. We didn't think anything of it so I took her to the store to help her get her shopping. Then on Friday 15th March she again placed an online order and once again it was cancelled! We still could not understand it but then someone who I know who used to work for Asda told me that she had probably been blacklisted for home deliveries because of what happened with the driver! I am so shocked that the word of one person against another has now left my daughter unable to get an online order with yourselves, I wish now that my daughter had complained at the time of the incident but although she was really upset by it she felt she didn't want to get the driver into trouble for being so rude to her. I understand that drivers don't help take someone's shopping up stairs for them and as I said usually my daughter has someone with her or on the few occasions she was on her own the driver has been very kind and helped her, but this particular driver was so rude to her and was shouting at her, and yet he has returned to the depot and obviously complained about my disabled daughter. I am so disappointed that we have only just realised and been made aware that she has been blacklisted as no one from Asda has ever contacted her when she has done an online order to let her know why it was cancelled. Myself and my daughter will now no longer shop with yourselves and once I let my friends and family know I'm sure they too will take their custom elsewhere which is really disappointing as we always looked forward to shopping in Asda. I just wish my daughter had been contacted so she could have given her account of what happened on the day in question as it now seems that regardless of whether a driver or member of staff are rude to customers or give bad customer service they will always be believed over a customer.
