I am a painter and have tried to sell my oil paintings on Catawiki. I am professionally trained, graduated from fine art academy and have more than 20 years of experience. Found myself in a situation that I just needed to sell couple of paintings quickly to get some money and repair my budget. Submitted my work and guess what? all 3 of my paintings were rejected, and I was told by Catawiki "expert" that they could not accept them because their value is less than 100 EUR. What a joke! and when you check what some paintings they accept for auction you can tell right away at least half of them were painted by people who do not even know how to paint, and definitely were not professionally trained. They accept plenty of kitsch and reject art works being made by professional painters. I don't get it at all. Avoid if you can.
