I attended costa in The Avenue Newton mearns. I was instantly approached by an employee Sarah (who I later found out to be the store manager). Sarah was very passive aggressive and raised her voice at me stating “you cannot eat that in here”. I explained that I wished to purchase a tea and coffee and did not intend to eat the sausage roll that I had previously bought from another store and was still in the packaging however I was unable to finish my sentence when again, she said in a raised voice “you can’t eat that in here”. The shop was busy and I felt embarrassed and shocked that an employee would behave in this way, even more so that she is a store manager. I asked for the complaints process and again she was very passive aggressive and said that she “assumed” I was going to eat the sausage roll. She made no attempt to apologise and proceeded to give me the phone number of head office whilst repeatedly saying “wow”.
Disgusting service and I will not be back.
