Since January have been trying to cancel the contract for a phone that has not be used for over a year (emergency phone for elderly parents they never used and subsequently lost) Firstly I could not get through automated service as did not have mobile number, then same issue with ID chat. Finally did speak to someone on line as I had cancelled my direct debit I gave notice and asked to pay any balance - they told me I could only pay the monthly charge and to call back to pay next month as final payment as then would match with end of contract! I did this but then noticed two late payment charges on my credit file. Thought the matter was now closed but then in June received a debit collection letter for ID mobile I rang the company and explained this account was closed in Feb - the Debit agency told me they had this issue previously and they would deal directly with ID mobile I have heard nothing else but now have the third late payment showing on my credit file and that my account with ID mobile (carphone warehouse) is now in arrears ! I cannot contact anyone and just now affecting my credit rating for a phone that was not even used and was given notice to cancel in January. Do not use them you cannot actually speak to a person if you have queries or want to give notice
