Charging me for multimedia messages I never sent

Just to put you in the picture I had been an ID Mobile customer for nearly two years with no need of contacting their customer services.
This was until they billed me for 12 multimedia messages that I never sent. So I contacted them to explain that this was a data error on their behalf .I explained that I remembered receiving a group message from a friend but that I had not replied to this message and that the charges they were billing me for were for me sending 4 messages to the sender of the original message, 4 to his Brother who in the nearly 2 years that I had been with ID Mobile I’d never called or texted and the best bit was that I had sent 4 messages in reply to my own number(laughable). But they still insisted that the data was correct.
So after cancelling my contract and moving to another provider I receive my final bill and an accompanied letter saying that as a good will gesture, they would not be billing me for the 4 messages that I had sent to my own number. As you can imagine, I was over the moon with the gesture. (Is this an admission of guilt I wondered)?
So you have been warned that when you are billed for none sent multimedia messages, they will not take into account solid evidence that they had a glitch in their system.
I also had a similar problem with another company Talk Talk that is associated with the Carphone warehouse; maybe they use the same customer services that are very poor.
