I cooked some fish from Lidl, when we started to eat it it was very obviously rotten.
I contacted customer service because it is important sub standard food is looked into.
I never heard back for 10 days despite a promise of response in 48 hours. So I called, I have gastric cancer and rotten food is very dangerous for me.
Customer service could see there was a complaint ref number but in 10 days it had not been acted on. Also he said “your name is not in the complaint” this was rubbish as when I looked the acknowledgement was addressed to me by name.
As if this was an excuse.
Lidl obviously do not take food safety seriously. And lack concern for the customer.
Cheap food is not the best.
With my gastric cancer I could easily have ended up in hospital if I had continued to eat the fish. But no one should be sold rotten fish.
To be scuppered by Lidl rotten fish after avoiding covid for 10 months would have been disgraceful.
